For the parents：
Class 10 Chemistry is divided into two main parts. The first part which we have been studying this week is ‘physical properties’. This means dissolving, crystallizing, heating and cooling. In fact, the relation of salts to heat is an important aspect to study. Osmosis was also looked at on Monday.
This week (from Tuesday) we will study the ‘chemical properties’, which means the relation to acid and base, the different acids used to make them and their relation to each other, and the different metals which are a part of each salt and how to detect them. This main lesson will finish with an ‘identify the unknown salt’ activity in which the students will use properties they have discovered to help them solve a chemical mystery!
